Jesus told many parables about God’s peaceful kingdom. This camp teaches kids about the early church and the ways that early Christians put Jesus’ parables into practice. Through Bible teaching and worship, reading and math centers, structured playtime, and hands-on learning in the visual arts (painting, drawing), the graphic arts (digital, media, design), the plastic arts (sculpture, modeling), and the performing arts (theater, dance, music), campers will portray various aspects of the God’s kingdom through His Spirit of peace.
While learning various parables and stories from the book of Acts, campers will learn basic sewing to create a felt dove. We will memorize scriptures that bring peace at difficult times, and campers will create a watercolor bookmark to remind themselves to look for peace in the Word of God. Campers will choose colors that remind them of God’s Spirit and use those colors to tie dye bandanas. Campers will work as individuals and in groups to develop a plan for sharing the peace they have experienced with others, using what they have learned from the parables studied. This camp is ideal for children who like to create art, children who are looking for more peaceful ways to express themselves, and children who want to share God’s peace with others!

Campers should bring a lunch, a healthy snack, and a filled water bottle each day for camp.
