God is perfect, and throughout the Bible we see God setting a standard that we cannot reach apart from God’s grace. In this camp, children will learn about God’s desire for us to be close to Him and everything that God has done to teach us to follow him and “be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect” Matthew 5:48. Through Bible teaching and worship, reading and math centers, structured playtime, and hands-on learning in interdisciplinary sports, campers will explore the importance of setting high standards, practicing towards a goal, and being compassionate with ourselves and others.
After discussing stories from Exodus and Numbers, campers will participate in drills and practices to improve balance, coordination, focus, discipline, self-control, and overall physical abilities. Campers will learn ball handling techniques in basketball, soccer, tennis, and baseball and then have a choice of extended practice time in their preferred sport. Campers will work together to give constructive feedback to improve individually and as a group. This camp is ideal for children who like to be active, children who want to learn better control and precision in any sport, and children who want to have fun exploring new skills and improving existing skills!
