We are created in God’s image to be creators ourselves. This camp teaches kids about the world that God created and sparks their imaginations to be creative themselves. Through Bible teaching and worship, reading and math centers, structured playtime, and hands-on learning in the visual arts (painting, drawing), the graphic arts (digital, media, design), the plastic arts (sculpture, modeling), and the performing arts (theater, dance, music), campers will learn to express their own creativity to reflect the beauty of creation and worship their creator.
After learning the Genesis story, campers will use natural materials to create a mosaic of one of the days of Creation. We will discuss how each person is uniquely created in God’s image and design a stencil that can be used to create graphic prints. Campers will work together to construct a quilled tapestry that depicts their individual and collective views of God’s character as seen in creation. Campers will work as individuals and in groups to plan, execute, and record a visual performance expressing all they have learned throughout the week. This camp is ideal for children who like to express themselves visually and creatively, children who love to explore God’s great creation, and children who aren’t afraid to try new ideas and get a little messy!
